arebyte Plug in: An Innovative Browser Extension for Online Exhibitions
arebyte Plug in is a browser extension developed by popupdeveloper that offers a unique way to experience online exhibitions. The plugin delivers various forms of content, such as images, videos, and 3D digital worlds, directly to the viewer's screen as pop-up windows. These pop-ups appear at different times throughout the day, providing a refreshing break from the constant scrolling and distractions of the digital world.
Similar to push notifications on mobile devices, arebyte Plugin automatically displays content once it is downloaded on the browser, creating a direct channel of communication with audiences. This innovative tool was initially developed in 2020 as a response to the Covid-19 outbreak, when online experiences became the norm. Despite the closure of arebyte Gallery, the organization continued virtually on arebyte on Screen, showcasing art and technology.
Now in its 3rd iteration, the plugin has been developed and designed by London-based studio 10PM. It introduces new features, including choreographed pop-ups for screen-based performances, and an archive of past projects. With arebyte Plugin, users can immerse themselves in the world of online exhibitions, experiencing art in a unique and engaging way.
